A Much Needed Bedroom Makeover!!

Since we're on the subject of makeovers, our master bedroom underwent a serious one in the last two weeks.  We bought our house in August of 2009 and just now got around the updating our bedroom.  It would have been done way sooner but Caroline's bedroom and furniture took priority over ours.  Not that I'm complaining, we wouldn't have it any other way.  For a year and a half almost we lived with the original drapery that the previous owner had up, a silver t.v. stand that was in Scott's apartment when he first moved to Houston, a queen size platform bed (which was nice but not nearly spacious enough for me, Scott and the chihuahua), and two tiny nightstands we bought on clearance from Target.  Needless to say, we grew use to our bedroom being like that.  It definitely wasn't a cozy place we loved to snuggle up in at night.  It seemed like every night when we got into bed, we would lay there and say, "We have GOT to do something with this bedroom."  Finally, we did. Scott and I worked our tails off for a week straight.  We took down the old curtain panels and sold them in less than 24 hours, patched holes from the curtain rods, painted an accent wall and the rest of the bedroom. We started on the Saturday before super bowl and completed last Sunday.  On the Saturday we finished up with the painting we went shopping for just a mattress and bedding.  The furniture was suppose to be on hold for awhile.  Low and behold, we end up getting a new mattress and box spring set along with a whole new bedroom suit and new bedding.  We came across a great deal and couldn't pass it up.  Below are a few before and after pictures.  Updating a bedroom completely is a little costly, so things like drapery and a new t.v. are still on the "to do" list.

A Blog Makeover

I thought it might be time to give the ol blog a little bit of makeover.  The background and header hadn't been updated in over a year, and now since Caroline has joined us, I figured it might be nice to actually include her in the header.  There's still some tweaking that needs to be done (like adding pictures to my header) but that will come in time (C's nap time) as I familiarize myself a little more with the image editor I'm working with.

Valentine's Day!!!

Being that Valentine's Day was on a Monday this year, we decided to celebrate it Saturday.  This is a busy month for Scott so we knew he would be working pretty late Monday.  We kept things low key this year being that it was our first Valentines as a family of 3.  No big reservations, instead Scott and I cooked and let me tell you... it was just as good as any fancy restaurant if not better.  We bought big jumbo shrimp and stuffed them with cream cheese, jalapenos, and wrapped them in bacon, seasoned up some giant ribeyes, loaded down some bake potatoes, had a great bottle of wine and we were in heaven.  We were so much in heaven that we didn't remember the salad I had made that was waiting in the fridge until after we had finished eating.  Oh well.

On Monday C and I just hung around the house and then went and met Daddy for lunch at Cheddars.  It was a good day!!

Happy Valentine's Day
Love,
Caroline

It's A Photo Shoot!!!!

Yesterday Caroline and I loaded up and headed over to our sweet friend Rita's for an afternoon of snappin' some adorable photos of our little one.  As soon as I put outfit number one on her, we plopped her down and for the next two and half hours she stole the camera!  Rita and I had so much fun trying out different things and Caroline tolerated us beautifully.  C was infatuated with her daughter Elsa, so everytime we needed her to do something like smile, look a certain direction, etc. we would just send in Elsa.  Today, I'm finding myself in a real dilemma choosing my favorite pictures, because seriously, every single one of them is my favorite.  So below is just a little peek at what consumed us all of yesterday afternoon.  I hope you enjoy!

So Beautiful!!!

Our Little Valentine!!!
