8 Months

Today is Caroline's 8 month birthday.  I can't believe that in just 4 short months we will be celebrating her 1st birthday.  (Which the planning has begun).  She is such a pleasant baby to be around.  She NEVER cries, and when she's upset, its just a little whimper to let us know she is unhappy.  She is such a great eater and she's losing interest in her formula fast.  She is way more into whats in OUR cups on whats on OUR plates.  I haven't ran across anything that the kid turns her head at.  A lot of our meals I'll puree up a little bowl for her and she gobbles everything down.  With every bite it's "Mmmmmmmmmm", it's so cute.  She adores puffs, crunchies and yogurt melts.  We haven't ran into any problems choking or gagging.  She's mashes and chews everything up like a little pro.  I'm anxious to get to our  9 month check up next month to see where she stands with her weight and length.  I've tried to weigh her myself but I know it's not accurate.

Other things C is up to:

-Size 3 diapers
-Still 6-9 month clothing (The 9 months are still a little baggy)
-4 6oz bottles a day with a jar of food with her breakfast, lunch and dinner bottles.  And then cereal mixed with some fruit with her bedtime bottle.
-Depending on what we have for dinner, she might get a bowl of "mush" from what we're having.
-When we go out to dinner, we have to make sure one of us gets french fries or a side of something soft for her, otherwise we will not be eating in peace.
-Around 3:30 everyday she gets crunchies, puffs, or yogurt melts with juice in her sippy cup.
-She has the sippy cup down!  She will drain that thing in a matter of seconds and then throw it on the floor, or bang it on her highchair tray.
-The girl is officially on the move!!  We're talking up on all fours, tummy of the ground, crawling.  And it's getting pretty darn fast.  She's also starting to pull up on the ottomans.  The coffee table is still a little tall for her.
-She usually takes two long naps a day.  One in the morning lasting about an hour and a half and one in the afternoon lasting anywhere from 1 1/2 hours to 3 hours.

I think that's about it for now!!! She brings such joy in our life and I look forward to hearing her on the monitor every morning playing with her little glo-seahorse and blowing rasberries with her mouth.

Sorry for such a long post, we've just started doing so many new things this month and I'm a proud Momma!

Creepin' up on Mia!

Scott Wayne Hopewell

Sometimes I don't think I show my appreciation for my husband as much as I should.  Ever since we've became parents he definitely does not get the recognition that he use to.  And he's totally fine with it.  Our worlds revolve around our child, as I'm sure most parent's lives do.  Husbands and wives tend to take the backseat when a baby arrives, which we wouldn't have it any other way, right?  I find myself taking Scott for granted, a lot, ever since Caroline has joined us.  Scott is truly a Godsend to me and I have to slow myself down and thank Him everyday for placing him in mine and Caroline's life.  We are the luckiest girls in the world. Scott is the hardest working person I think I've ever met in my life.  I admire and look up to him so much.  He is such a strong supporter for Caroline and I, and he truly defines the phrase "Worlds Greatest Husband"... and Daddy!  Thank you for everything you do for your girls Scott.  C and I love you very much!!

We're on the move!

Caroline is officially getting this crawling thing down and pulled up once.  On Tuesday May 10th, Scott and I were standing in the kitchen and Caroline was playing on usual spot in the living room.  I turned my head for about 10 seconds, and the next thing I know, she's pulled up on the entertainment center with the t.v. right in her face watching Nemo.  Scott ran in there just in time to stick his hands between her and the floor.  Goodness gracious this stage of crawling/pulling up/walking is going to shave a couple of years off my life. :)

Outdoor Girl!!!

Yesterday while my mom was still visiting, we decided to load up Caroline and head to the nursery to pick up some extra flowers and plants for the flower beds.  Once we got home we got everything unloaded and laid out in the front yard, including Caroline.  MiMi laid out a towel for her and a few toys and for almost 3 hours straight, she played and just enjoyed being outside.  We could seriously stay outside all day and she would be happy as a clam.  I know that as soon as she becomes a little more mobile, we will be spending a lot of more time outside.  Below are a few pictures I snapped while she played with a shovel and a flower.  Cute as a bug!!

My 1st Mother's Day!!

This year was my 1st Mother's Day.  I have to say, it was rather strange hearing people wish me a "Happy Mother's Day".  It was so surreal.  It was a wonderful weekend.  My mother flew in Wednesday night to spend some time with us and to watch Caroline for the weekend, mentioned in the previous post, we had our very close friends wedding out of town.  With that being said, "Caroline" wanted to give me my Mother's Day present early.  So, Thursday night Scott and I went back to check on her, and laying next to her in her crib, was a small gift box that held my Brighton Beverly Glam bracelet.  What a wonderful gift and I absolutely adore it!!  I guess she was just too tired to wait up to give it to me!! :) So sweet!!!  Sunday morning after the wedding festivities, we wasted no time on hitting the road.  We made it back in to Katy at 11:30am, and I got to spend the rest of the day with my wonderful mother and precious little girl!!  We stayed in and cooked dinner and just relaxed.  Wouldn't have wanted it any other way.

The envelope of my card :)

Look's like she might have had some fun in the paint!

Signed her name and everything!! What a girl!! :)

All my sweet Mother's Day goodies!!

C picked out the flowers too!!

Heath & Jamie's River Wedding!!!

This past weekend our dear sweet friends, Heath and Jamie Davis were married right on the beautiful Guadalupe River in New Braunfels, Texas.  The resort where we stayed and where the wedding took place was absolutely wonderful.  It was a much needed adult weekend with some of our closest friends.  Many thanks to my mom for flying down to watch Caroline for the weekend!  Here's a few pictures from the wonderful wedding weekend.

This was our balcony that overlooked the river. So peaceful!
