Happy 1st Easter to Caroline!

We had a pretty low key Easter this year.  We decided to spend the morning with just the three of us and go to Church, and then later in the afternoon Scott's Nanny and Uncle Aaron came over to spend some time with us.  It was really a wonderful Easter and even though we missed our family terribly, I loved that Caroline got to wake up in our own home and see what all the Easter bunny brought.  As Scott, Caroline and I sat in our living room yesterday playing and watching t.v., I couldn't help but have a feeling of warmth and thankfulness come over me.  Sometimes I have to slow myself down to stop and think about how fortunate I am, and thank God for the blessings in my life.

The Easter Bunny was good to Caroline

Look what I got!!!

Happy 7 Month's Caroline!!

Saturday the 23rd Caroline turned 7 months old.  She is such a busy, busy, busy little baby.  We are starting to hurt ourselves face planting into toys and carpet and bumping our head on surfaces.  I would say we are about a week or two away from crawling.  She gets up on all fours, starts rocking and will move one hand forward and then face plant.  She's a little dare devil and when she hurts herself, she will immediately look at me or Dad like... "Am I ok?"  It all depends on our facial expressions if she will cry or not.  As far as other things like eating, we are still about the same as we were a month ago, except we've added a ton of juice and a ton of puffs and she's starting to get things off our plates!! (She's demanding when she sees our plates full of yummy food).  She's about got the pincher grasp down as well.  She's added a few more consonants to her vocabulary so now she says, da da, ba, and ga.  Still no "ma"... of course!! :)  She went swimming for the first time Saturday at our sweet friends and neighbors pool.  It was a hit!!!  I knew it would be because she LOVES her bath time and fusses when we take her out.  Here's a few pictures of our little water bug!

Floating with Daddy and his silly hat that he loves!

Love my new floatie!!

Scrub a dub dub!!!

Bath time is the funnest time of the day in our house!!  I use to bathe Caroline in the sink because bending over the tub about kills my back.  Well when the wild woman started splashing with everything she had and I nearly broke my neck from slipping on the wet floor in kitchen, I knew it was time to move to the tub!!  Now she can really cut loose!! Here's a cute little video.

Firethorne's Spring Festival and Egg Hunt!!

Saturday afternoon Firethorne put on a wonderful little spring festival and Easter egg hunt.  The egg hunt was for ages 5 and under.  The ground was COVERED with colorful eggs filled with little treats for the kiddos.  When they yelled "GO" it was a matter of seconds before they all vanished.  It was so cute and the kids/babies were so excited.  Caroline managed to only get one with the help of Mama.  That's ok... next year she will be running all over the place and fully prepared for all the egg hunts.  After the egg hunt we walked around to see what all they had going on.  Each Firethorne resident got a raffle ticket, including C.  They had bouncy houses, face painting, balloon artist, snow cones (which Caroline LOVED), and "Good Ol Boys" catered hot dogs, crawfish and shrimp!  It was delicious!  We had a great little Saturday afternoon.

"I don't want to touch the grass!!"

"I will go for the egg though!"

Finally getting use to the grass

"Hmmmm this looks good!"

Sweet, beautiful Caroline

And like everything else... straight to the mouth!

Mean mommy took the skittles out!

Texas Bluebonnets & Baby Blue Eyes!!!

Yesterday afternoon Caroline and I met up with our sweet friend Rita to get some beautiful shots of C in the bluebonnets.  It was such a gorgeous day and we found the perfect patch.  We had heard that they may not be that great this year due to such dry weather but you certainly can't tell from the pictures!  They are just as blue and vibrant as ever!!  And they really bring out the blue in Caroline's eyes, just beautiful.  She wasn't quite sure what to think about all of it, hence the facial expression in a lot of the pictures, but towards the end she started to get more comfortable with them.  Here are a few of favorites!!
